PHMI set to develop professional development series for Chinese health care professionals

Saturday, November 1, 2008

Partners Harvard Medical International has entered into a multi-year agreement with Beijing Novartis Pharma, Ltd. to organize and deliver a series of professional development programs in China.

PHMI will deliver a total of 15 programs over the course of three years, including an annual Clinical Summit for physicians, specialists, and health care opinion leaders that will be held in Beijing and replicated in three other Chinese cities. The first clinical conference will focus on hypertension. In addition, PHMI will organize an annual health care management course in Beijing for hospital leaders and administrators. The courses will be taught by a multidisciplinary faculty group drawn from Harvard Medical School as well as academic medical institutions in China.

The new initiative with Beijing Novartis is based on the CME series delivered in Switzerland from 2004-2007 by then-Harvard Medical International, in cooperation with Novartis Pharma Schweiz.
